What do you like best about Crayon?

I love all the intel it pulls from all over the web, how easy it is to use, the integration to Salesforce, and the daily emails alerting me to new intel. The customer support has been amazing from the first demo through implementation and more. We have a every other week meeting set up with our customer success just to check in even though we're running well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crayon?

It can be noisy if you don't set up your alerts properly. They don't help create a brand new battle card like you wish they would, just provide a template to work off of. I really wish the influenced revenue feature would allow me to click directly to which opportunities that influenced revenue is linked to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?

It saves me time searching for competitive information and compiles it in one place. My battle cards are consistently fresh and updated, and the AEs can trust the information provided. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Crayon?

I discovered Crayon when I came into a company using a competitor product that was difficult to use feven after 1:1 training with our account rep. The company had not taken advantage of the integrations with this other product, and It became obvious why when I tried to make what was handed to me work. When it came time to plan and budget, I started a search for a better product and found Crayon. It was a completely different experience - including that, even though we hadn't committed yet and were just testing integrations, the Salesforce integration worked beautifully. Before I could implement Crayon, I was laid off at the company but delighted to find that my next company had just started using Crayon. It took a while before our vertical got into Crayon and could start taking advantage of it, but I again noticed how easy and intuitive it was to use. Still, our account person told us to send any existing battlecards so she could enter for us. This tracked with my experience at the other company, as they had told me they would be heavily involved in getting us setup since they wanted us to be successful with it. It's apparent that Crayon as a company works to ensure that customers are successful using Crayon and can take full advantage of all that's included. It's a goal this year to get battlecards and competitive information all up-to-date, and it's less daunting knowing that I have Crayon. Not to mention making it easier to get competitor information from the field more easily once we can fully implementand integrate into the sales workflow (that's back on us, not Crayon). Time is precious, and Crayon gets that about its customers - working hard to make sure we're set up to automate as much as we possibly can and staying more current with competitive intelligence than previously possible. What do you dislike about Crayon?

I'm in a matrixed organization with different business units, and the initial setup of Crayon was watered down as it tried to address across all parts of the organization, making it less useful. For an organization obviously dedicated to supporting its customers to setup for success, this was disappointing and not something I could use. I knew the potential, but it wasn't setup for Crayon to be effectively used. Thanks to my past experience and knowing the potential, our business unit was able to work with Crayon to get it setup for us. I"m in the B-to-B world too, and I know that it gets complicated with Enterprise accounts that span market segments. I do think,in this case, it could help to have an implementation checklist of sorts, so any one person who is managing the purchase and implementation is thinking about who needs to be involved from the beginning (as in, your CI and/or marketing users need to have input in the setup). To be honest, that's going above and beyond, but Crayon is a company that demonstrates a willingenss to do just that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?

Tracking competitors easily and the battlecards make it easy to focus on the battlecard content versus layout. A ton of time is saved by having one place to go with the info I need on my competitors and it's updated, so I can keep track of new products or moves being made by the competition. Getting CI from the field is difficult so having a way to make that easier with our folks in the field is huge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Crayon?

Crayon has been instrumental in kickstarting our competitive intelligence program. It has simplified the process of gathering competitive insights and tracking competitor activities, significantly reducing the need for extensive research. I particularly appreciate how easy it is to compile this information into effective battlecards.

One standout feature for me is the ability to include live tiles, such as negative reviews, directly into our battlecards. Additionally, the option to share updates on battlecards through weekly announcements and the compete hub is really handy,

I was really impressed with the thorough onboarding process and the excellent support provided during the rollout of Crayon. It was one of the most well-executed onboarding programs I've experienced, with everyone offering valuable assistance to ensure a smooth transition and successful implementation. What do you like best about Crayon?

Crayon has made it possible for my small team of one to develop a robust competitive intelligence program. Besides automating data gathering, it has a ton of options for ways to distribute information (an in-platform newsfeed, Salesforce/Slack integrations, battlecards, etc.). It's super easy to use and I was comfortable using the platform immediately after onboarding. However, the best thing about Crayon is their focus on customer success. My account rep has been able to answer any questions I've had, worked with support on my behalf when needed, and has been a true partner in establishing our CI program. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crayon?

There have been times where Crayon has stopped pulling in data from certain sources. This has usually been addressed and fixed within a matter of days. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?

Crayon helps us track multiple competitors closely and distribute competitive intel effectively while minimizing the time/effort required to do so. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Crayon?

Update 11/2023: Crayon doesn't disappoint. true to what I said previously about the quality of the team, Crayon has continued to listen to feedback and update the product. The one area I mentioned before about needing updating is the word processing app, and they've added in more fine-tuned controls, and they really help.

More than that, they've updated the product, improving the integration with Salesforce, introducing the Compete Hub so we can better track how our battelcards are influencing deals and revenue, and made creating announcements as simple as flicking a switch to create awareness around new insights, battlecards, and battlecard updates.

Crayon makes receiving and curating actionable intelligence on key competitors as easy as pie: users can create nuanced saved searches available upon login to Crayon or delivered to one's email inbox at a chosen interval. This is invaluable; it keeps me attuned to the latest developments and news for competitors. More powerfully, I can take those bits of information and add insights that can then be shared into a battlecard for more real-time intelligence to enable internal stakeholders. While new to competitive intelligence, I've worked in intelligence for over 13 years, and Crayon solves many of the raw intelligence dissemination and analysis-sharing hurdles I've had to creatively overcome during my career. As equally important as the tool is the team I work with- they're simply fantastic. They're responsive to questions and requests for help, ready to hop on a call to brainstorm ideas or problem-solve, and receptive to new ideas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crayon?

As they've continued to improve the product, there's not much to dislike - as I mentioned in my original review, Crayon is a fantastic tool that solves problems I had to deal with for the bulk of my intelligence career; it's simply fantastic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?

The biggest problem Crayon helps to solve is the coalescing of competitive intelligence assets - raw intelligence and finished analysis - into one central, easily accessible, and shareable repository. In our internal chats, it's becoming increasingly common for folks to reference Crayon: "I've found this in Crayon" or "I was checking Crayon," which not only speaks to our internal messaging, but to what Crayon is able to achieve as a tool for our organization. We are a small outfit, and having our work as broadly accessible as possible ensures we're able to focus our attention on solving the next critical problem. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In a dynamic competitive landscape, Crayon provides real-time competitor insights, eliminating the need for manual daily intelligence gathering. Additionally, the responsive and supportive customer success representative enhances the overall experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crayon?

There isn't much to criticize. Crayon has significantly improved its ability to filter out irrelevant or unimportant insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?

Analyzing competitive intelligence, consolidating insights, and tracking competitor activities are essential functions that Crayon provides. It serves as a crucial source for us to monitor our competitors' pricing strategies, content updates, and product development efforts. Additionally, we leverage negative reviews and feedback from platforms like Glassdoor to identify potential weaknesses that we can capitalize on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Crayon?

I enjoy how customizable the Battlecards are. We created a custom layout template that we duplicate for new battlecards. The Salesforce integration is also great, it makes accessing customer and sales data much easier. But my favorite thing is the dedicated customer success team. The onboarding process was super fast and easy thanks to their support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crayon?

The one downside is that building Battlecards can be time consuming since you need to manually add in most of the content. It takes effort to keep the information up to date. I wish the Battlecards had more automated data flows to pull in relevant info and keep things current. But overall it's a great tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about Crayon?

I love having crayon as our go to repository for competitive battlecards. The search is very easy to use when I need to find information on a specific competitor. I also like the new dashboards where it shows influenced revenues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Crayon?

I wouldn't necessarily say it's a dislike but its another dashbaord to login to, so it could be great to have some sort of an extension to pop open competitors while I'm on other pages Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Crayon solving and how is that benefiting you?

Ease of use to research our competition while in a sales process. Much easier than asking around internally or relying on google drive or dropbox for shared resources. The organization is great as everything is categorized by profile, strengths, weaknesses, summary, reporting, why we win and more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
