267 Intuit ProConnect Tax Reviews
What I like best about ProConnect Tax is the ease of use and the diagnostic alerts that assist with the return review process. I love the IntuitLink feature that makes the process of obtaining documents from clients clear, simple, and efficient. I also love the document import feature that helps to lessen the potential for human error that can occur when populating income and other tax related information into a return. The import feature alone drastically reduces the time needed to prepare a return. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I dislike about Intuit ProConnect Tax is the Customer Service. My luck in getting knowledgeable agents to assist when I initially started using the software was so bad that I stopped reaching out for help and it prolonged the software implementation process. But that actually proved to be positive as it forced me to really learn how to navigate the software on my own and train my staff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The upside of ProConnect is being web based, can have multiple screens open at one time including different types of returns, and diagnostic split is helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The downside of ProConnect is that it's built from Lacerte and therefore, I expected the majority of the same features and functionality with enhancements and improvements. If ProConnect can make features like the jump to feature work, the missing items and report work, invoicing with schedules/forms listed, and visibility for review better it will be a great program. Lacerte was much better at introducing a software to new preparers, ProConnect doesn't have the features yet and it makes it difficult for new preparers to understand where to input and make corrections; ultimately making my job harder and less efficient because I have to train and correct more upon review. The software makes it easy to do tax returns timely and with less errors. As a new user, I had to contact Customer Support on a few occasions, and they were very easy to work with. The software also allows us to scale a lot easier than having to buy a large package of return without the potential to use the full package. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We struggled with the 990-N postcard a bit, and we found and error in one of the calculations with the Ohio state return that caused a failed e-file. Intuit was able to fix the issue after a while and we were able to successfully submit both types of returns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I like best about ProConnect is how easy and intuitive it is to use. The interface is clean and well-organized, which helps me work quickly and efficiently. I also appreciate the seamless e-filing process and how smoothly it integrates with other Intuit products. It saves me a lot of time during tax season. I’m very satisfied with ProConnect’s customer support. The team is friendly, professional, and always ready to help. Every time I had a question, I received clear and timely answers. Their support really makes a difference, especially during tax season. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While I’m very happy with ProConnect overall, I think there’s room for improvement in pricing transparency—especially for smaller practices. However, these are minor issues compared to the overall quality and functionality of the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Besides that, it feels more user-friendly than other software It has a help option that includes a help portal and a digital assistant chat. On top of that, different screens and forms include a help logo that includes helpful tips and explanations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is not much that I dislike about the software, as it is the best tax software I have used. The only not-so-negative feedback is that they could map things a little better and explain better the vast options that the software includes. I have been using it for months, and there is much more to explore that makes it challenging to master it all and at times feel that this features could make thing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface is relatively easy to navigate, the search function usually finds the form that you are looking for, the navigation response time is quick (unlike QuickBooks online which I consider unusable), you can reverse navigate from most of the form fields back to the input screen, the help pages are decent, the suggestions area in the review section is decent, and you can now allow you to speak to a live person for support (a big deal) since many problems are too complicated for a simple chat interaction. It has its share of bugs. You can spend an hour with support to find out there is no fix or workaround. Also, the quality of the support staff varies, some are quite competent and others are quite inexperienced. Very few know anything about the tax code and why you need to do what you're asking to do. Maybe that is asking too much. Also, the price increases each year and I'm not sure it's price competitive. No one wants to enter their client's prior year returns, however, to switch platforms and I'm sure that keeps client retention higher than it would be if you could switch more easily. 100% cloud based - I can work on my clients' tax returns wherever I am as long as I have my laptop or access to a computer. It is also very easy to set up and get started and does not carry a lot of overhead with it. You can pay as you go for your returns or purchase them all upfront.
I rarely need customer support, but when I do, they're very helpful and you normally don't spend an hour or more on hold. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the input forms are clunky. For example, when making elections on a tax return, there are sometimes three different places to make elections. Sometimes they're on the main input screen, sometimes you access them by clicking on a link in the upper right corner that usually isn't labeled elections. Many elections are on the elections input page and the ones that aren't are sometimes hard to find if you don't know where to look.
Integration with QuickBooks Online is hit and miss. Client information has a different format in the two modules and so the system often creates duplicate clients and merging them is not as easy or as seamless as it feels like it should be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The most helpful (and surprising) thing about using ProConnect is the level of technical support they provide. Whenever I have a question I simply request a callback, which occurs within less than 3 minutes. The support technicians are well trained and friendly to work with. It really is superior support compared to any other software of any kind that I have worked with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside I can think of is, despite my initial training on the software, at first I found it a little less intuitive than I expected it to be, especially after being a long time user of TurboTax. But now, after two tax seasons of working with it, I can get around comfortably. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I found the software to have all of the forms I needed in a fairly accessible and organized manner, which allowed for ease of use. The support staff were especially quick and helpful the few times that I required assistance which compared to other software(s) I have used if an amazing bonus. I did have some initial difficulties learning to use the software, and found the lack of customization options to be frustrating, would love to see a dark mode added in future updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The most helpful feature of ProConnect Tax is that it is an online software. I appreciate not having to download a program. I can access it anytime, anywhere. Using the software was is pretty straight forward. When I have had an issue customer support was able to resolve my problem quickly (it was a user error). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At times the interface can feel clunky. The screen doesn't flow right for all screen sizes. It can be difficult to navigate of find the form you are looking for. I am very unhappy with the change in pricing structure for E-Filing & Printing. We are already paying for the returns. That should be included instead of an extra fee per user.
