Which is the top software for relational databases?

I’m trying to figure out which relational database software is considered the top choice overall. With so many options available, I’d love to hear from people who have hands-on experience.

From what I’ve seen on the relational databases category on G2, these seem to be some of the most widely used tools:

  • Amazon RDS: Managed service with broad engine support and seamless AWS integration. Often used for scalable web and app deployments.
  • Amazon Aurora: High performance and cloud-optimized. Works with MySQL and PostgreSQL and is built for low-latency applications.
  • Microsoft SQL Server: A well-established platform with robust support for transactions, analytics, and data warehousing.
  • Google Cloud SQL: Managed database for MySQL and PostgreSQL on Google Cloud. Easy to deploy and works well in GCP environments.
  • Oracle Database: Known for reliability and advanced enterprise features. Common in industries with high compliance or mission-critical needs.

If you’ve used any of these, which one has been the most reliable and effective in your experience? Are there any that stand out for performance, flexibility, or ease of use?

Would appreciate any recommendations.
