Apple Mail is quick to set up. It's a primary email client with support for a range of services, including the Apple's own iCloud Mail, Gmail, Yahoo! Mail and Exchange. It also allows you to connect your own IMAP and POP3 accounts, with S/MIME support for end-to-end encryption.
The user interface is clean, with mailboxes, folders, and accounts accessed via the sidebar. Unified mailboxes allow users to see all inbox, sent draft and folders in a single view! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Apple mail is realllyyyy a storage-heavy Email solution! It saves every single attachment draft and trash mail and stores it on your MacBook hard disk. Now is you have a MacBook Pro, it doesn't matter much, but for MacBook Air users, this is a huge issue as the Apple mail takes up a lot of storage space in the long run. With limited storage in MacBook Airs (128 GB onwards) one has to decide whether to use this solution or opt for a browser-based solution such as Gmail. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's a competent mail client that connects to most other mail services and allows you to read and send emails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not a specific problem with this mail application, but most third party clients don't work 100% and this is no exception. It doesn't integrate perfectly, so if you ever need to use the first party client for your email, it can cause issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like being able to get all my email from all my accounts in one place which is a definite plus when working on my phone, iPad on laptop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
On the MacBook Pro I have it runs a lot slower on Catalina than I would like. Taking far too long to update my emails and it often leaves me heading for my web based mail apps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are not many downsides to Apple Mail. The only downside may be that the it is a little behind on the graphics. But the ease of use makes up for that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish there were more customization options, but that is not a big deal, nor does it hinder the program's functionality. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
