I like how easy it is to sign up. Within just a couple minutes I was signed up and ready to choose books. I'm able to set my preferences and I get an email with new books that might interest me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think their categorization process is flawed. For example a book will be for children, but also categorized as "Literary Fiction". It makes me think marketers are category stuffing to get a broader audience but it makes it harder for reviewers to find books they actually want to read. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
NetGalley is a fantastic platform that connects new and upcoming authors with a reader base. This reader base is able to grow and build a profile that can allow publishers to send early releases of upcoming book releases to. This helps authors build hype for their book on platforms such as Instagram, blogs, Goodreads and Amazon. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When you're just starting out on NetGalley it can be hard to get many books sent to you since you haven't built up a large presence. This can be discouraging for readers new to NetGalley. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
