I have been using Botpress for my Chatbot client for the last 1 months. The main plus point of this platform are:
It is quite friendly to build and easy to navigate, everything is on your thumbstep. The 2nd and the most important feature of botpress is it's AI integration in fast and feasible way. I have used many other bot platforms but Integration of AI and LLMs here in Botpress is unmatchable.
Although a lot of things need to be improved like processing time, yet as a day to day user, I highly recommend this.
Other important things, the developers team at Botpress is integrating new tools to the platform on daily basis. With every passing day, new AI automation tools and agents are coming and Botpress is a champion in integrating all these. Users can integrate make.com(an efficient automation tool), twilio(communication tool) and other GenAi tools as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Botpress has limited its functionalities for free-tier users which I think is an issue for the new builders. However, if we think from their angle, they are right, they have to manage all the LLMs, APIs and integration, and eventually, everything has a cost associated with it.
Second issue I face is, sometimes when the workflow structure becomes complex, the processing speed reduces. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Botpress is both powerful and user friendly - there isn’t much you can’t do if you put your mind to it. It has the capability. I love that there is a large user base in the discord and the community openly helps each other. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It would be nice if there was a bit more support from human agents but at the same time there is extensive documentation and the large discord community. And the purpose after all is automation, right? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The Autonomous Agent mixed with Standard agents turns it into a very powerful hybrid approach, when consuming from API, mixing with tables storage. The knowledge base also is a powerful tool to quickly build a very human AI agent to answer simple questions. And also it's very easy to connect to any of the communication channels any business would use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The learning curve can be a little steep, but there are plenty of resources, discord channel, and the community is super active. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the combination of LowCode and ProCode as well as integrations of variety of tools available to build RAG-based Chatbots quickly. The UI is intuitive and easy to understand. I think the USP of Botpress is that it has the capability to scale within Companies and reach all rooms of the house (from Citizen Devs to Pro Devs) and has a great impact to deliver GenAI Chatbots to boost productivity as well as generate value for everyone. Although, I can tell Botpress is at full speed with new updates, some "smaller" features are being forgotten. For example, it's great to have an Index Optimization function for the Vector Database. However, after uploading new documents to the Database, the function always optimizes every document, even documents that were optimized before (which can be costly if done regularly). I’ve been using Botpress for over 4.5 years, both for corporate-level chatbots and later smaller-scale solutions. It offers an excellent balance between low-code usability and advanced developer control. The visual interface is clean and intuitive, making it easy to design complex flows. One of the most useful features is its ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) capability, which makes it simple to handle and reuse structured data throughout conversations. The platform also includes powerful features like workflow automation, API integrations, and analytics, all while being easy to onboard and iterate with. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While Botpress is a powerful platform, the Autonomous Node currently lacks smooth integration with other card types in the visual flow builder, which limits flexibility when designing hybrid conversation flows. Providing more visual control over autonomous logic would significantly enhance the user experience.
Additionally, the current choice card only allows single selections. Introducing multi-select capability—where users can select multiple options with checkboxes—would greatly improve usability. As it stands, users often have to enter multiple responses as free text, which can be confusing and frequently leads to incomplete selections.
While setup is generally smooth, support for complex implementations could be more responsive. That said, we actively use Botpress across multiple projects, and it remains an essential tool in our development workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The flexibility of the product and its ability to solve multiple problems in a short development cycle it revolutionary. The ease to implement is easy enough for business users to spin up their own bots. Its ability to integrate with other platforms expands the capability of the platform significantly. There is no easy way to have Botpress access a site behind a secure wall. This makes training on internal docs a bit more complex, either having two sets, or having to download from the source site and train on a regular basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon bot AI Simp, my now business partner, and the tool I use almost exclusively for website ai chatbots.
Botpress does a fantastic job on creating a platform that is extremely excessible to any skill level but also allows you to push past most low code solutions by being able to execute code right in the chat sequence. This allows us to connect to multiple apis, zapier, and even langchain.
Mix that with the incredibly helpful community and it quickly became my go to choice for and website facing AI bot.
10/10
Best in the businss Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, there isn't many things to dislike, short of it not being the one AI to rule them all. For it's niche, it stands alone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

the best thing in UI, it is very efficient to drag and drop the cards to create a well working chatbot. Botpress comes with tonnes of features and they have an awesome youtube channel to teach us all the stuff. they also have a discord channel where they help stuck users. It is very easy to use, people can learn it in a week or so. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
they give limited messages in free tier, which makes it difficult to test full fledged chatbot is one does not have a subscription.
the UI and features keep changing once in a while, they keep updating things ideally for the better user experience but sometimes it causes problems to users Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As an automation consultant, I've used other platforms to build chatbots for my clients, and Botpress is the one that has allowed us to build and operate the most complex implementations with success. I'm talking about combining conditional logic, LLMs and external API calls to our clients' systems to process user input and move users as designed through the conversation flow.
Whenever Botpress native features don't do something, the integration marketplace usually solves the problem, with a lot of handy plugins that allow you to integrate with other software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Botpress flow builder requires a high learning curve, specially for complex implementations. Whenever we deliver a solution to a client and give out the technical advice and access to platform, business users find it hard to learn it.
Botpress pricing model can be expensive for certain companies that receive a lot of incoming messages or need extra features. Although a first glance at the free tier might make you think otherwise, the limits are soon exceeded. This gap is being solved recently with the introduction of the Plus plan. Botpress is currently the best solution to distribute and build multiple chatbots. This is gamechanging for people in the intersection of marketing and development - as myself. You can spin up a useful integration in a couple of hours, the team is always ready to help with the basic plans, and even the free chatbot is great.
Im using it daily to reduce the number of unqualified leads in our funnel and it's been a great experience Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some integrations with whatsapp business API that are not intuitive to make for users, as they require some code and not all features of the API are being explored Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
