Cove Data Protection is one of those products that allow us to "sleep at night." We've taken it fleet wide to every one of the Partners we serve, and utilize it for everything from single file restores to complete Disaster Recovery scenarios. Its flexibility to provide comprehensive protection across workstations, servers, and Microsoft 365 while also being easily managed by our entire Engineering team makes it a no brainer. We've worked with nearly every "big name" in the business continuity space through the years, and Cove solidly sits as our sole go-to solution and remains so at each annual review/assessment of the product. Native reporting continues to be the one main sticking point for us. Thankfully the team managing Cove Data Protection are very responsive and open to such feedback, and we have confidence in seeing growth in that area of the platform much sooner-than-later. The reliability and ease of use is definitely the first that comes to mind. Was it not for the confirmation reports to remind me, Cove would almost be a set and forget data protection solution. My backups complete successfully day after day after day. The reliability of this service is amazing and the peace of mind that the automated recovery testing functionality provides is certainly on of my favourite features. What we have found compared to other backup solutions is that it is more reliable and takes less work to manage. We have much less failure tickets to deal with compared to solutions in the past. The backups just seem to work! Installation is very simple and can be done with scripting. They also offer both on-premise and cloud backups in one solution so you have one dashboard to monitor all your backups in one place instead of multiple tools. Honestly there isn't much to not like. One thing we are hoping for is to be able to backup 365 users by groups instead of individual users so we could automate removing users from backup if needed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best part about cove is the flexibility. With backup policys, retention policies, and policies to backup specific applications or folders. Disaster recovery tools like boot testing and continuous restores are reasonably priced and reliable. We've had very few backup failures. It runs smoothly 99% of the time. You can access detailed logs and information about the endpoint and any failures. Also able to bulk run endpoint backup commands to manage every aspect of cove across multiple machines. The only downside is lack of alerting at the moment however notifications are currently in beta and seem to be working to resolve this but its not quite there yet. There is no PSA integration but is on the roadmap. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Having a cloud-first architecture, I like how quick and easy it is to deploy and implement. Unlike on-premise backup and recovery which takes time and effort to set up and then more time and effort for tweaks after. I also like mow modular the solution is, providing me just enough for what I need because some solutions will provide you with lots of features that you will not use. I don't know how it works exactly but the partnership with Microsoft is outstanding. I can simply integrate my Microsoft services such as Teams and Onedrive in a few clicks unlike others that need additional steps and API integrations that sometimes doesn't work. Support is one thing I recommend Cove can improve. I don't have any problems when recovering because they know it's crucial and you can simply call a number and someone will assist you. However, my concern is for any technical problems aside from a recover. It sometimes take 5 hours, even a whole before someone responds to a ticket I created. Support when recovering is highly appreciated but for other concerns, we can at least have a chat or something so I can get some answers right away. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I don't find anything that can be criticized in Cove the only advice that I feel like giving as a European citizen, to respond to the various regulations of the European community, you could extend the conservation period of fortified copies from 1 month to 6/12 months perhaps also asking for a financial contribution to have this service. Cove Data Protection impressed us with its speedy setup process. From initiating the service to starting our first backup, the entire process took less than 30 minutes—a remarkable turnaround time. The system itself is also fairly intuitive, making it user-friendly even for those less familiar with data protection solutions. One standout feature is the granularity offered for restoring data, which provides a high level of control and flexibility when retrieving specific files or information. While there isn’t much to criticize, there are a couple of areas for improvement. The user interface could benefit from some modernization and refinement to enhance overall usability. Additionally, we encountered a few isolated issues where a single problematic file caused backups to stall for several days. Cove Data Protection is a very straight forward backup solution that enables us to implement backup agents easily. We are able to monitor the backups from a daily backup report, in event of an issue we have been able to speak to an experienced engineer to get the issue resolved.
