244 Datto BCDR Reviews
The position I am in now is the 3rd MSP that I have worked for that uses Datto BCDR. The software always seems to be up and running normally. I have used the restore spin up before to bring a customer's server up after the server itself crashed. The customer loved it and knows that's what they pay for. I have also done file restores for customers that thought they lost their data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When mounting a restore using virtualization... after starting the virtualization you cannot paste a password into the field. It must be typed and can be difficult with some of our really long passwords. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Making a backup is not hard, making sure it succeeded and can be restored if need be is another story. With Datto SIRIS you know if a backup is made and an automatic restore test is done. If that fails you are alerted and can act upon it or let it be fixed automatically.
It will allow for a full VM restore but you can also restore a given file or folder on a specific time, depending on your backup schedule. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes it can be hard to determine the required settings or steps to fix a failing backup or restore, not some much a problem with SIRIS but more because of all the different hardware/software combinations supported.
Linux restore takes more manual steps and is less obvious than the Windows restore process.
There a manual steps and configurations required before and when recovering. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The BCDR's are some of the best Safety Items I have ever found... Backs up Locally and to the Cloud... If you want to back up once a day or every minute... You can... Depending on the Unit you have, You can spin up a Virtual Server Right on your Device... Easy to setup, Easy to get a hold of their Customer Support when you have an issue or need to get a file... From someone accidentally deleting a file and retrieving it... Or if your Server Crashes... Implimenting a Bare Metal Restore is easy to do... It fully integrates into the servers, workstations... It is there for you to stop a Disaster before it can happen... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cost of the units have gone up over the years... but yet, YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET... It is Worth Its Money though... Tech calls can take a bit. But isn't that with any company out there... They are prompt and will get you through it... They are highly knowledgable... Trust in them... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

A great experience in 3 years using Datto, it simplifies a lot when it comes to backups and saves a lot of information if the tools are up to date.
The best thing about it is that it saves copies, in several weeks and you can extract information at different points and it is very convenient when migrating the information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't think there is anything I don't like about the software, maybe I would like to extend the services to Latin America. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like how easy Datto BCDR is all round. From deployment, to day to day management and recovery. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downside of this solution is the price. I wouldn’t call it overpriced as you get what you pay for. But now with the free hardware on all commitment options, it makes it easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Datto BCDR has seamless backups with plenty of recovery options. In the event of a service disruption such as a ransomware attack or natural disaster, the recovery capabilities of Datto would help to restore operations quickly so that my clients' employees to continue working with minimal downtime needed. Datto includes hardware, software and cloud services in their cost model which would make it more expensive comparing to competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have several different backup requirements that need to be met to offer the right solution for the backup. Datto's line of solutions has proven to be an asset to our overall backup management. I have used the product for over eight years, and it has consistently proven its worth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
No Mac OS support. If we had a complete solution for all our clients, we would need a MAC OS solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Once its running espcially if you have multiple users / setups it's simple to monitor and also reliable. Warranty coverage is great also. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Not much to dislike but the price is high but to be expected for the product and hassle free nature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
VMs can be run off of the BCDR while restoration is in progress. Very minimal business down time.
It is very easy to use on both Hyper-V and ESXi. And the support team are very responsive and intuitive. It is very easy to implement into different environments and the integration is very simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The instructions and howtos could be better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Depending on the device model they bill for each agent instead of a device.
If I already paid for the device I don't want to be billed for each agent installed.
Before, I was billed only for 1 device instead of the agents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
