Epicor for Distribution Reviews

We appreciate the customizations that are available with the platform as we have implemented quite a few customizations to make the product work best for our company's needs. We also use the Epicor ECC eCommerce platform and are in the process of implementing the Epicor EPX payment processor so we enjoy having multiple Epicor products that are supported on the P21 platform. I'm the Director of eCommerce so my review is somewhat limited to the services my team uses. The only downside I have experienced is that sometimes we need extensive customizations in order to make a new eCommerce feature work and occasionally we have long lag times in the implementation of the new feature due to these customizations. Moving to the cloud and adding some features is great. Creating end points so we can manage custom things easily. Solar has nice features that make it easy to customize but I would like more information on best practices. They are changing the integration environment to be easier. Eclipse software is becoming more progressive but in the past they did not have a lot of functionality we needed so now we are in the predicament that we have some custom code. The support is also challenging and they not communicate very well. They also focus heavily on getting product needs from the user groups which is sometime good but for us being very innovative and ahead of others in our industry the things we would like them to focus on are usually not in line with some less innovative users. Prophet's move to the cloud means we are missing out on its newest features. We have not always trusted new releases when they're first introduced and have been hesitant to move to the Epicor Cloud. Prophet 21 is built in a way that works with, not against our distribution business and is built with the tools to manage all parts of that business. The tools it provides makes it a key part of how we serve customers as a distributor. Epicor Prophet 21 is a great system for Distribution. However, our company is splitting between Distributiin and Manufacturing. It does have Light Manufacturing capabilities, but you have to pay for add-ons. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
