267 Microsoft Power Apps Reviews

Power Apps is a great way to build business apps quickly and easily. While it isn't perfect, I would count it as the best low-code app platform. While there are over 1000 data connectors available, it is also easy to build your own, meaning that if you have data chances are you could have an app interacting with that data. It also shines as part of the Power Platform, which gives access to automation, data analytics, chatbots, and low-code websites that can also interact with business data. I think the most challenging aspect of Power Apps is also what makes it easy: the fact that it is part of a platform. This means that whatever you build will be tied to that platform and you will have to pay for access to that platform. While the pricing structure is more easily understood now than it used to be, it can still feel a bit on the pricy side for the average business. Of course, when considering the savings in time and accuracy when compared to paper or more siloed processes (Excel spreadsheets come to mind) the cost actually is worth it in the end. I like that Power Apps is integrated with SharePoint, which is something our organization utilizes a lot and has a lot of other connectors at our disposal. It reduces our need to create an application in Visual Code for example, and do all the work of using the MIcrosoft APIs. Creating a power app can often be fairly quick and easy. If we have more complex functionality with more logic embedded into the app, debugging can often be difficult. We have to use little hacks to debug the app which is time consuming. Another problem is that it is hard to work with the delegation errors. Making a simple filter using the "in" operator cuases problems sometimes, when this should be simple. Also, the data limitations of 2000 records makes it hard to work with this app. Often, our lists go up to 5000 records and we need to be able to pull in those records into the app in a gallery. Otherwise it results in loading issues.
Another nice to have feature would be if the version control had metadata about what changes were made in each version, sort of like traditional version control. Sometimes I'll keep publishing incremental changes to work around this, but it will be nice to have.
Another issues we've come across is if connections change in the app. Updating them in the app proves to be cumbersome and can break several areas in the code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Two drawbacks of Microsoft Power Apps are its pricing structure, which can wilt plush as usage scales, and occasional limitations when it comes to complex, highly customized app requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Some of the forms and Low code have improved drastically over 1 year.
The chatbot setups are easy now and functionality can cover major workflows. Used daily by the Innovation team. The micrososft premium support is also a good addition to solve any issues. The suuport team helped to implement it with ease. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Integration was not seamless as we need different types of licenses. Not on par with Outsystems or any low code application like alteryx. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Ease of use for eg using the drag and drop functionality or the pre defined templates even a novice user can get started with the app building process , which earlier was limited to technical developers this saving a lot of time , efforts and money as part of the software development cycle. Power apps may not be very efficient while handling extremely high volume of data . Also power apps does not support concurrent development as app can be launched in edit mode only for one user at a time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Not much to dislike. But since the solution is in development stage hence highly customize apps takes longti load the data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It allows you to do some very powerful automation and workflows around emails, sharepoint lists and onedrive/teams integrations. There is a lot you can do out very easily and even more complex apps are possible with less advanced users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are some limitations as to what it can do. It is a powerul tool but at this stage cannot repalce a dedicated workflow solution due to it's connection to the office suite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'm not a hardcore developer, but can use Power Apps to create applications for use. It has the right mix of intuition to work for both a novice user like me who lives on the product side but also cater to and expedite the build process or active developers who know how to build from scratch. Plus, the fact that it ties into the MIcrosoft ecosystem of products makes it a big win with a huge assortment of 1st party and 3rd party integrations availble. For the life of me and this holds true for most Microsoft products, licensing is one of those things that takes an email or phone call to your technical account rep to hash out. If you need to budget for a cost to run, implementation one time expense, and other areas you would figure that a platform like this would have a simplified model but it does not. It is a low code development application, it enables user who doesn't have much coding/technical knowledge to develop a tablet/mobile view based applications for their business needed. It's highly user friendly UI to develop through drag and drop options. We can connect multiple datasource and API to integrate out app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The major problem I face is latency issue in application loading if our application is handling higher number of coding/volume. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
