What do you like best about OpenPhone?

As a small business owner, I needed a phone system I could use daily that was professional, flexible, and easy to manage. OpenPhone has delivered on all fronts. I use it to communicate with clients, send reminders, and keep my personal number private—all from one app. The ability to set business hours, auto-replies, and separate work/personal communication has been a lifesaver. I was also happy to see an export options for contacts! Customer support was helpful in helping me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

I had a hard time getting my account registered initially - and it took weeks. I was getting a bit frustrated with that, however, it appears there was a glitch and it was resolved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before OpenPhone, I was using my personal phone for work, which blurred boundaries and made it hard to disconnect. Now, I have a dedicated business number that runs through the same device, keeping things separate and professional without needing a second phone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenPhone?

So far the support as I haven't been able to use this program yet, but I know any questions or issues I have will be taken care of. The way the staff and owner have been so helpful and quick to respond is exemplary. I am excited to use this program for my business, as it will solve an important problem to solve. Having multiple phones to ring and have text messages received, with the ability to transfer calls to others is exciting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

It is a bit more difficult to transfer a number as I am unable to speak to the carrier directly to sort out the issues I am having with my current carrier. The amount of back and forth is a lot. Once I am over this hurdle I am certain the issues will be over. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

Being able to have the business number ring on multiple devices and transfer calls to other members of my team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenPhone?

OpenPhone has been a game-changer for our startup communication. The ability to manage multiple business numbers from a single dashboard is incredibly helpful. I love the seamless integration with Slack and HubSpot, as well as the ease of assigning numbers to team members. The interface is clean, modern, and easy to use — even for non-technical folks on the team. It truly helps us appear professional and organized while scaling. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

There’s very little to dislike. Occasionally, the mobile app notifications can be a bit delayed, but it's a rare occurrence and never a deal-breaker. I’d also love to see more advanced automation features in the future — like auto-replies based on keywords or business hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

OpenPhone solves the problem of managing business communication in a modern, remote-first world. Instead of using personal phone numbers or juggling multiple SIMs, our entire team can now handle calls, texts, and voicemails from one shared platform. This makes us look more professional, improves customer response times, and keeps all communication organized in one place. It’s especially helpful for startups like ours who need flexibility, collaboration, and scalability without the complexity or cost of traditional phone systems. What do you like best about OpenPhone?

I really like how easy it was to set up—everything worked right away without any hassle. The platform is very straightforward, which made it simple to get started and train others on it. It’s user-friendly and doesn’t overcomplicate anything, which I appreciate. Customer support is very easy to get through to speak to someone and that is a major highlight, I dont have time to go back and forth over email. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

’ve been using OpenPhone for about a month now, and so far, nothing major has stood out as a negative. If I had to choose something, it would be the phone number registration process—it was a bit confusing. The steps weren’t very clear, and it took a bit of trial and error to figure it out. A more guided setup for that part would have been helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

OpenPhone allows my boss and me to share the same business number that’s wrapped on our vehicles, which keeps things consistent and professional. We’ve set up business hours so that calls come to me, the office manager, during the day and automatically route to his phone in the evenings and on weekends. We also both have access to call recordings, which helps us stay on the same page and avoid any miscommunication when dealing with client requests. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenPhone?

The biggest factor is that I never miss a call. I also think it's the perfect phone system that will be able to meet my expectations as my business. I looked at other similar virtual phone companies and made the decision that open phone is the best system for business growth and teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

There is really nothing I don't like. I've had an account for over a month and all has been going well. Whenever I did have an issue such as not being able to send texts, once I created a trouble ticket my issue was resolved in a timely manner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before open phone potential customers were calling on my personal cell number

After a while I noticed I was missing calls and having trouble reaching back to them. On the other hand I was talking to customers but now missing personal calls from family and friends. Became a little stressful at times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenPhone?

* Integration with Slack - get call/text alerts in a Slack channel

* Easy call forwarding to our office phone

* Multiple Interfaces: We can Use it on iPhone, Mac, or browser — so we’re not tied to one device. We can even make and receive calls or texts from our iMac, MacBook, or any desktop browser.

* Affordable pricing Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

* No integration with Zoho CRM software. Zoho CRM is a leading CRM software for small businesses, it's better and more agile than Salesforce in many ways

* Customer support is kind of slow, it takes a day or so for someone to respond. For a call service offered for businesses, we would expect an update for a ticket in a matter of a few hours

* Porting number is slow. We ported our number out from AT&T business. It took several days after ATT has approved the porting request for the number to be ported into OpenPhone Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenPhone?

After months of frustration with a phone carrier that felt stuck in the 1980s—clunky systems, dropped calls, and outdated features—I finally made the switch to OpenPhone, and I couldn’t be more relieved.

From day one, everything just worked. The setup was effortless, the interface is incredibly intuitive, and the features are clearly designed with modern businesses in mind. I didn’t need a tech team or a full afternoon to figure things out. Call routing, voicemail, messaging—all smooth, smart, and seamless.

It honestly felt like a breath of fresh air. I finally have a business phone service that keeps up with me instead of holding me back. If you’ve been stuck with an outdated provider and are looking for something reliable, modern, and stress-free, OpenPhone is a game-changer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenPhone?

We chose OpenPhone as service of our primary business lines. We wanted a simple easy to use service that includes basic business functions and can provide some announcements at beginning of call such as a call may be recorded announcement. Call recording and AI Summarization is great. Built in contacts/mini CRM is perfect for our business needs. Multiple lines can be set up easily. Customer Support was great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

Although the porting requests can be submitted on the app fairly easily, I think the processing of the port by backend porting teams need to be a bit more timely. I created a porting PIN from current carrier which expires in 4 days but I think porting team did not submit it timely which caused initial port attempt to fail on my 2 numbers due to "pin expired". I had to have the resubmit with a new generated PIN from current carrier. So far it is proceeding well and I have a confirmed port date now, but I think they just need to be timely from when customer submits request to send it to carrier for port processing. Otherwise port process would have been much smoother. Still, I am happy with the application, this is something that can be easily be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenPhone?

The service is fully integrated and very user friendly. OpenPhone provides everything: the server, the DID, the front end, everything. It's very easy to set up, use and customize. I was able to make my first test call within 5 minutes of starting the free trial. SMS messages have also been going through with no issues. It just works. More advanced features like virtual attendant and caller blocking are also available. Since Skype has been shut down, this is the best alternative I've found. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

Getting verified for outgoing SMS within the United States is a bit challenging, but I understand why this restriction exists. Number outside of the US can be contacted immediately. Incoming SMS messages are also not restricted in any way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

OpenPhone provides complete, ready-to-use solution for VoIP communication. I don't have to worry about purchasing the front end software separately from the call minutes or DID. I don't have to worry about codec compatibility or subnet configuration. OpenPhone handles everything behind the scenes. You don't have to be an IT specialist to use this product. If you're a small business owner, or if you just want an easy to manage virtual number, this solution works great. OpenPhone provides you with a dedicated virtual number. They don't just forward calls to an existing phone. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about OpenPhone?

We run self-storage businesses. Our current lead management software is really, really, bad. Like it's obvious the employees don't use it themselves. This led us to a recommendation from another business owner to OpenPhone.

My dream was to have a transcription of each call for easy, or automated, follow-up. OpenPhone checks almost all the boxes. And most importantly - I want to be able to answer on my phone. So many other management programs are computer browser only. We now get to provide our phone support 24/7, and everything is still tracked.

When you call us, you get someone in my family. We pride ourselves on this, and OpenPhone doesn't require prerecorded lines or an answering machine first. We're really happy so far and can't wait to use this in full force. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about OpenPhone?

I have not yet tackled automated text follow-up. It is not going to be easy to set up this workflow, but OpenPhone does have a Zapier API I will have to play with.

The UI is not the most intuitive but easy to click around and find where I need to be. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is OpenPhone solving and how is that benefiting you?

We get transcriptions and AI summaries of our phone calls. That is just amazing. Instead of listening to a sometimes 45 minute phone call to recall information, the AI has it summarized and transcribed for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
