Ease of Use and Flexibility once it is installed. There are a lot of functionality and flexibility in creating dashboards using the scripting window. This allows the product to be very tailored to our department and organizational needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Since moving to the cloud most of the features that were a problem on-prem are no longer a problem. Some of the complex filtering is still a challenge with everything being an 'and' and no real way to use 'or'. Additionally, naming conventions for perspectives is a problem which is being worked on by Sisense. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sisense user interface for the final user (viewer or designer) is really simple and intuitive for the most common needs. It is really customizable, but also embeddable in your solution .
Sisense's support is always available and usually provide feedback in short time.
It's Elasticube (data) engine has really good performance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometime it's not immediate for the designer to understand what is the path that sisense is usign to provide an answer (draw a chart or create a table), that could require some "hint" in the expressions to force it to use the right structures, but it depends on the complexity of your datamodel. I think it is an acceptable compromise when you use a software that is not requiring you to write the query needed to get data, regardless how complex is your datamodel. Sisense offers developers an intuitive interface. Building models (live and elastic) is easy and straightforward. Basic capabilities are easy to learn and adapt. There is a range of widgets to choose from. I'm personally a fan of Blox given its versatility.
As a service, the support we receive for issues and queries is always outstanding. Though some issues take longer to be resolved, we are kept up to date on the progress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We struggled integrating it with Slack. Some of the basic widget customisations need custom scripting (if it is a frequently requested feature/capability the team strives to add it in the upcoming product releases, which is good). Having to purchase addons from third-party vendors for basic features is not ideal.
Lacks the ability to search for a metric to identify which dashboard contains it unless the metric is explicitly mentioned in the dashboard name. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sisense is really great in terms of building and simple straightforward reports and dashboards. I think Sisense has also been really great with integrating with Snowflake. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some things that Sisense lacks is the ability to create more in-depth data visualizations. I think the sharing and folder aspect of Sisense is lacking as well compared to other BI platforms. The amount of Javascript needed to do more complicated dashboards and reports is a fairly big hurdle. Finally the Sisense community is really lacking compared to Power BI and Tableau. Sisense is a powerful and flexible business intelligence (BI) platform known for its ability to handle complex data modeling and provide scalable analytics. It supports both live and in-chip (ElastiCube) data models, offering versatility depending on performance and latency needs.
The platform excels in embedding analytics, making it ideal for companies that want to offer white-labeled dashboards or integrate insights directly into customer-facing applications. The drag-and-drop UI is user-friendly for business users, while developers and data teams can leverage custom SQL, Python/R scripts, and APIs for more advanced needs.
Sisense’s Live Data Models connect directly to cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, and Redshift, allowing real-time insights without needing to move data. However, performance can depend heavily on how well the models are designed and how queries are structured.
Pros:
Strong embedded analytics capabilities
Flexible data modeling with Live and ElastiCube options
Scalable architecture suitable for large datasets
Customization via APIs, plugins, and scripting Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cons:
Steeper learning curve for advanced features Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
From an operational side of things, the way the application is architected works well with our organization's setup for the most part. It uses similar technologies to what we're already using. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Customer Support has been a mixed bag. Often it feels like there isn't common knowledge & understanding throughout the organization of issues, features, release timelines. Often documentation has been lacking specifics that we would find out later on support calls. Upgrading from one version to the next is tedious and usually we find ourselves discovering bugs and reporting them to Sisense, which makes me think their QA process isn't very thorough.
